Native Cows: The real wealth of India

This is a story of a feisty woman who has explored every front and every channel to preserve and promote our natural wealth, the native cow or the “deshi gayi”. From adopting villages together and channelizing the supply chain in order to conserve the national wealth to finally start her own works of cow products, she has done it all. After successful chapters in the advertising and fashion fields, Yamini wished to give back something to the society. Then she did not know she would get her hands to actually milk the cow or collect the cow dung, in this quest. She, in turn, is greatly inspired by the native cows and often cites their qualities of perseverance, sustainability and selflessness which she feels everyone should imbibe from these useful beings.

Being from a farmer family settled in the Vidarbh region, farming culture was not new and their issues were also not away from her. Considering all her options she finally took the plunge and registered for a well-defined government course which taught her the basic formulations using organic ingredients like varied herbs along with the magic elements cow milk, urine and the highly medicinal cow dung. Now, these formulations were effective, efficacious, completely organic and eco-friendly. At this point, her journey as an ecopreneur had already begun.
